The GOJHL is proud to announce the recipients of this year’s prestigious Frank Santarossa Scholarship. These exceptional players from the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) have demonstrated outstanding dedication to their education, community, and the sport of hockey.
Keegan Jackson: A 3rd-year goalie with the Caledonia Corvairs, Keegan Jackson has shown remarkable commitment both on and off the ice. Balancing his responsibilities as a student in the Business Administration program at Brock University, Keegan has excelled academically while actively contributing to the development of younger goalies through coaching and volunteering. His passion for hockey and community service has made him a deserving recipient of the Frank Santarossa Scholarship.
Blake Hall: As the assistant captain of the Fort Erie Meteors, Blake Hall has displayed exemplary leadership qualities and dedication to his studies in Kinesiology at Brock University. Blake was a critical piece in the Meteor’s run to the Sutherland Cup, playing top-line minutes and scoring when they need it most. Blake’s achievements both on and off the ice make him a standout candidate for the scholarship.
Jace McGrail: A 2nd-year defenseman with the Sarnia Legionnaires, Jace McGrail’s contributions extend far beyond the rink. His academic excellence in the Instrumentation Control Engineering Technology program at Lambton College, coupled with his extensive community service involvement, showcases his exceptional character and dedication to making a positive impact. Jace’s leadership and commitment to serving his community make him a deserving recipient of the Frank Santarossa Scholarship.
Carter Coombs: A 3rd-year forward for the Listowel Cyclones, Carter’s academic efforts are a notable one. He raised his grade tremendously over the years, while continually remaining an honors-level student. Additionally, he volunteers with community parades and various local hockey camps in Listowel. The fund wants to continue shaping and aiding Carter’s academic journey by making him a worthy recipient of the award.
Each recipient of the Frank Santarossa Scholarship will receive financial assistance to support their educational endeavors, recognizing their achievements and contributions both in hockey and in their communities. “We are thrilled to recognize Keegan Jackson, Blake Hall, Jace McGrail, and Carter Coombs as this year’s Frank Santarossa Scholarship recipients,” said Tim Simmons Interim Commissioner of the GOJHL. “Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to academic and athletic excellence are truly inspiring, and we are proud to support them on their educational journeys.”
