The Huron County Dairy Promotions Board of Trustees is pleased to award scholarships to outstanding individuals who are continuing their education in an agricultural area. Recently three area students were selected by the Huron County Dairy Promotions Board of Trustees to be added to the elite list of Huron County Dairy Promotions Scholarship winners. Local students receiving the 2024 scholarships are Makaila Cantrell, Makayla Stambaugh and Dori Stuever.
Makaila Cantrell is the daughter of Melissa Kramer of Ruth. She will be attending Michigan State University majoring in Agriscience Education. Makaila attended Ubly High School and was actively involved in the Lucky Livestock 4-H Club for 12 years and the Ubly FFA program for six years.
Makayla Stambaugh is the daughter of Kristy Stambaugh of Bad Axe. She will be attending Fox Valley Technical College majoring in Agribusiness. Makayla attended Bad Axe High School where she was actively involved in the Bad Axe FFA program for six years.
Dori Stuever is the daughter of Sue Stuever. She will be attending Michigan State University majoring in journalism. Dori was homeschooled and was actively involved in Boots and Bling 4-H Club for eight years and actively involved in the FFA program for six years.
The scholarships are sponsored by the Huron County Dairy Promotions Scholarship Fund. More than $87,000 has been awarded since 1981 to Huron County young people pursuing an occupation in agricultural related fields.
