The VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest is an annual competition meant to recognize high school artists and encourage patriotism in youth. Applicants must be enrolled in grades 9-12 by the March 31 deadline, be U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals, and be under the age of 20. Classical music media platform From the Top and the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation jointly offer the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award Scholarship for young classically-trained musicians (ages 8-18) who are interested in studying classical music in college. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional musical achievement, unmet financial need, academic achievement, and strong character. Winners are granted a $10,000 scholarship that may be used toward instrument purchases, summer music camp tuition, college audition travel expenses, private lessons, and other music-related needs.
