LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — More than 50 bowlers from four states played at Valley Lanes in Carbondale in memory of Phil Jones.
Jones was an avid bowler who was killed in a crash a few years ago.
The event also serves as a fundraiser for scholarships for high school students.
“This is super important to us; not only because bowling is a huge part of my life, but we have a great community here and the youth bowlers are what is going to make this sport great for years to come,” said Cindy Grabowski, Event Organizer Valley Lanes.
The tournament kicks back up Sunday at 11 a.m. in Carbondale.
