Unified Christian Alliance Inc. held its 28th Baccalaureate services May 4 at Breath of Life Church. The 2025 scholarships were awarded to three students, according to a news release.
O’miyah Bullard, a senior from Pine Bluff High School, received the Betty Lagrone Memorial Scholarship of $1,000.
Destiny Hines, a senior from Watson Chapel High School, received the Ida P. Jones Memorial Scholarship of $800.
Raylen Tisdale, a senior from Watson Chapel, received the Sandra Jones Memorial Scholarship of $500.
Unified Christian Alliance is a scholarship foundation that gives scholarships to area high school seniors to attend the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The foundation was established in 1997.
Jennifer Lee is the president and founder of Unified Christian Alliance. Other board members are Jean Holloman, Joyce Butler, Carl Whimper, Chrishunn Clark, Shunna Williams, Deborah Thomas and Tomekia White. White, a professor in the UAPB agriculture department, was the program speaker.
The coordinators also thanked Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Breath of Life Church, Betty Wright, Ben and Sarah Phillips, Rose Patterson, Carolyn Howard, the Sandra Jones Family, the Ida Jones Family, the Betty Lagrone Family and Nan McDonald who generously supported the program, according to the news release.
