Three students from the Magic Valley will take home $2,700 in scholarships from the Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association this year, according to a press release.
Riley Klimes, a 2023 graduate of Kimberly High School, won a $1,100 scholarship. He is studying agribusiness and business marketing at the University of Idaho.
After graduation, he plans to open his own business.
Courtney Beene, of Rupert, won an $800 scholarship.
She is studying agricultural business with an emphasis in farm and ranch management at the University of Wyoming. After graduation, she wants to represent farmers and ranchers in policy development at an agricultural agency.
Connor Porath, of Twin Falls, won an $800 scholarship.
He graduated with an associate degree in May from Clarendon College and plans to study agricultural systems management at South Dakota State University. He plans to work in agriculture technology sales.
The IIEA this year awarded $1,4200 in scholarships to 16 students and has awarded $567,560 in scholarships since 1980.
