WEXFORD, PA — Three North Allegheny High School students have been named winners of National Merit Scholarships.
They are among a group of more than 6,870 high school seniors who will get college-sponsored Merit Scholarships for undergraduate study worth nearly $26 million.
The North Allegheny winners are:
Jerry Q. Li, Wexford: University of Pittsburgh
Probable career field: Physical Therapy
The University of Pittsburgh’s Pittsburgh campus offers a multitude of degree-granting and other programs housed in 16 undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools. At the Pittsburgh campus, 4,000 faculty serve approximately 27,000 students, including over 17,900
undergraduate students.
Noah J. Lee Sewickley: Purdue University

Purdue University is a state-assisted university system with students on five campuses. Among the 25 largest colleges and universities in thenation, Purdue’s West Lafayette campus enrollment exceeds 34,000.
Andrew Y. Long: University of Maryland

There are three University of Maryland campuses. The College Park campus provides a comprehensive program of graduate and undergraduate work, including a large and active general honors program.
