LANSDALE – The North Penn School District (NPSD) is proud to recognize the following 32 North Penn High School (NPHS) students who were named as commended students in the Annual National Merit Scholarship Program:

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)—which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.5 million entrants each year—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of those who entered the competition by taking the PSAT/NMSQT®.
For more information about the competition, please click here www.nationalmerit.org.
