$40,000 Scholarship Awarded to 2025 Richard Montgomery Grad Liliana Katz-Hollander – The MoCo Show –
MCPS recently shared on social media that Richard Montgomery High School graduate Liliana Katz-Hollander, a member of the Class of 2025 and a recent Montgomery County Women Making History honoree, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship. The honor comes with a $40,000 award, distributed as $10,000 annually over four years to support her college education.
Last month, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, in partnership with GE Aerospace, announced its 15th class of GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program recipients. Katz-Hollander was one of the students recognized during a Scholars Retreat at the Reagan Library, which included leadership development activities and a formal awards ceremony.
The highly competitive scholarship program seeks to honor students nationwide who embody the attributes of leadership, integrity, drive, and citizenship. Recipients must also demonstrate strong academic performance, with at least a 3.0 GPA, and plan to pursue full-time undergraduate study at a four-year accredited U.S. college or university.
Richard Schroeder, Chief Education Programming Officer of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, praised the new class of recipients: “We are proud to welcome these extraordinary young leaders into our network of accomplished GE-Reagan Foundation Scholars across the country—now 15 years and nearly 250 leaders strong. As our 2025 recipients set out to contribute to college communities around the country, we are honored to deploy them in the name of President Reagan in an effort to advance his enduring legacy and principles.”
Meghan Thurlow, President of the GE Aerospace Foundation, also highlighted the program’s impact: “The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholars program exemplifies the shared legacy of GE Aerospace and President Reagan in fostering leadership and civic responsibility. Through this partnership, we celebrate the remarkable promise of this year’s scholarship recipients, who embody the values that drive progress and inspire future generations.”
Now in its 15th year, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program has awarded $9.42 million to 236 students across 42 states, supporting scholars attending more than 120 undergraduate campuses. For Katz-Hollander, the recognition adds to a growing list of accomplishments, underscoring her impact as both a student leader and community role model in Montgomery County.
