Five Northeastern Nevada students will get to taste college their way through Burger King Foundation scholarships.
The five “exceptional students” were rewarded with scholarships “through the foundation to aid in furthering their education.”
This year, the foundation awarded over $4.5 million in scholarships in the United States and Canada.

Burger King Foundation was created to advance the education of deserving students in North America as a tribute to Burger King’s co-founder, James W. McLamore, who embraced philanthropy.
With support of local Burger King owners across the U.S. and Canada, the Burger King Foundation has awarded $38 million in scholarships over the past decade. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their grade point averages, community service, financial need and leadership and work experience.
“We see scholarships as our way of investing in the future of our employees, our community and helping students reach their full potential,” said Gary Moore, the Burger King franchise holder in the Elko region, who supports the Burger King Foundation Scholarship program each year.
