Coaches, family members, and teammates gathered to honor the athletes, recognizing their ability to balance academics and sports—an achievement that sets them up for success at the next level.
The event began with a speech from Horlick High School Athletic Director Adam King, who reflected on the students’s journeys from youth sports to high school, focusing on the dedication and perseverance required to reach the collegiate level.
“These student-athletes have put in countless hours of training and competition. Their success is a testament to their discipline, hard work, and the strong support systems behind them,” King said.
Each athlete took the stage to introduce themselves and announce their college of choice, met with cheers from family, teammates, and coaches.
As the Horlick athletes signed their official commitment agreements, the reality of their achievements sank in. The signing was followed by a photo session with family, friends, and coaches, capturing a milestone moment in their athletic careers.
Horlick softball coach Greg Harris delivered a heartfelt tribute for Kaprelian, recognizing her achievements as a two-time first-team all-county player and her commitment to balancing academics with athletics.
With a touch of humor, he encouraged her to dominate rival Bradford High School in future matchups.
Each athlete had the opportunity to share their thoughts on their commitment, the challenges they faced, and their aspirations for the future.
For Coach Fletcher, the role of coach goes far beyond wins and losses.
“It’s almost like the day you see your child come into the world, knowing you’re sending them off,” he said. “Every day is a dream to have that kind of impact and influence.”
Watching his son, Carson, alongside the athletes he’s mentored, reach this milestone was deeply emotional.
“It’s not just a signing day; it’s a part of your heart—your legacy.” Guided by the wisdom of his grandfather, Fletcher takes pride in knowing he’s helping shape a better world.
Coach Tony Anzalone, Noah Larson’s father, talked about the dual role of being both a coach and a parent, acknowledging the challenges and joys of supporting his son’s athletic career.
“Watching my son and these athletes reach this milestone is incredibly rewarding. It’s a testament to their hard work, and I know they will continue to make us proud,” he shared.
