WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – A Foundation that helps people in ministry pursue school gave out a record amount of scholarships this year.
The 52nd annual Sacred Heart Foundation benefit dinner was held Tuesday night.
The dinner helps the foundation raise scholarship money for priests and brothers of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart to go to school.
The foundation gave out 84 scholarships this year worth a total of $113,000.
“Fundraisers like this and our golf tournament in June are big components in how we can raise that kind of money and disperse it,” said Todd Murrock.
The foundation has given out nearly $2.5 million over the last half-century to people from around the world.
