Six Prince William County high school students from five schools have been selected as 2025 scholarship finalists by the the National Merit Scholarship Program.
All will be considered for National Merit scholarships awarded later this year, according to a news release from Prince William County Public Schools.
The students include:
The students are selected based on their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT test, which is a precursor to the SAT. Their academic records, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, and honors and awards are also considered, the release said.
All students will compete for $2,500 National Merit Scholarships, corporate-sponsored awards, and college-sponsored scholarships.
The winners of the 2025 National Merit Scholarships will be announced beginning in April and concluding in July.
