EASTERN SHORE, Md. – The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore currently has more than $600,000 in scholarships available for area students and urge them to apply.
Some scholarships vary based on the student’s prospective area of study, such as education, STEM, HVAC repair, welding, and culinary arts. Others prioritize GPA, athletic activities, or community service.
Over 400 students were awarded last year, and CFES Director of Scholarships & Community Engagement Cathy Diekmann says, this isn’t just for one type of student.
“Most of the applications are from students who attend 2 or 4-year schools, that includes community colleges. some are actually for equipment related to the trade… Scholarships are not just for students with a high GPA and all the bells and whistles, as they say. You know, there are different types of scholarships for different types of students.”
CFES says the same students win every year simply because they apply, and you can too by April 1st. Just head over to their website or talk to your guidance counselors.
