7 Staples High School Students Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists | Westport – Patch

WESTPORT, CT — Seven Staples High School seniors have qualified as National Merit Scholarship Corporation semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program, school officials announced.
The Staples High School semifinalists are:
Nationally, approximately 16,000 semifinalists — less than 1 percent of the more than 1.3 million students who took the 2024 PSAT/NMSQT qualifying exam — will compete for 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $26 million.
“It is an extraordinary honor for these students to be recognized for their academic abilities, and an honor for our school,” said Staples High School Principal Stafford W. Thomas, Jr. in a statement. “Each of these students has demonstrated talents and passions beyond academics every day, making them wonderful representatives of the Westport Public Schools.”
