BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Eight Broward County Public School seniors who earned top marks are honored with full four-year scholarships to the nation’s top schools.
The students from The College Academy at Broward College, a dual-enrollment high school in Davie, have been named National QuestBridge Scholars. The recognition is providing them with a full four-year scholarship valued at more than $300,000.

The eight QuestBridge scholars and their future destinations include:
· Amelia Bartley, Boston University (Boston, Massachusetts)
· Bianca Cadet, Boston University (Boston, Massachusetts)
· Aselah Davy, Swarthmore College (Swarthmore, Pennsylvania)
· Thania Dervilus, Boston University (Boston, Massachusetts)
· Sebastian Garcia Gutierrez, Pomona College (Pomona, California)
· Isaias Posada Rios, MIT (Cambridge, Massachusetts)
· Shaliyah Rose, Washington & Lee University (Lexington, Virginia)
· Tyler Scott, Rice University (Houston, Texas)
“This remarkable achievement by our College Academy students is a powerful testament to their hard work, dedication and the exceptional educational environment fostered at The College Academy at Broward College, said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “We are incredibly proud of these talented young scholars and the bright futures that lie ahead for them.”
According to a media release, the College Academy provides an educational bridge from high school to college for accelerated students. High school students in the Academy complete college coursework to concurrently earn both a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree.
In 30 years, more than 40,000 students have been admitted to colleges that partner with QuestBridge, with scholarship awards exceeding $5 billion.
