9 West Morris Central Students Commended In National Merit Scholarship Program – Patch

CHESTER, NJ — Several West Morris Central High School students have been commended by the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Nine students from West Morris Central, which serves the Chesters, the Mendhams, and Washington Township, received Letters of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
While these students will not move forward with the National Merit Scholarship competition, their hard work and impressive PSAT scores earned them commendations from the prestigious program.
“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” said an NMSC spokesperson. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
2026 National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced in a series of nationwide news releases beginning in April and ending in July.
