The Fort Myers Beach Lion’s Club have announced the recipients of its “We Serve” scholarship drive.
The club fundraised throughout the past year for the scholarships, including funds raised from the Fort Myers Beach Lion’s Club Shrimp Festival this past spring.
The scholarship application process was a competitive, with 10 recipients chosen to be awarded monetary gifts for college or vocational educational assistance. Those chosen were local students who demonstrate ability, need and a solid record of community service.
“The response this year was overwhelming and we would like to thank all those in the community who helped us raise these funds to ensure brighter futures for these students,” said Lion’s Club member Darby Doerzbacher.
