$113,000 in scholarships have recently been awarded to 36 students in Ontario including 2 students from New Tecumseth.
The 2024 Scholarship Program through the Municipal Retirees of Ontario awards applicants based on eligibility criteria, leadership skills, volunteer experience and a commitment to making a difference in their communities.
The first recipient is Ryan Helling from New Tecumseth who is studying Automation Systems Engineering Technology at McMaster University.
And Alyssa Hawkes from Beeton is studying Social Services at Georgian College.
Each student receives a cash award of $3000.
