CUMBERLAND — Four local high school students won scholarships totaling $2,200 during the 56th annual Tri-State College Night last month at Allegany College of Maryland.
More than 40 colleges, universities, technical schools and branches of the military were on hand to help more than 100 students and parents make educated decisions about post-secondary plans.
Gavin Clayton of Mountain Ridge High School and Brock Dunnington of Bishop Walsh School won $750 scholarships. Clayton’s scholarship is for Allegany College of Maryland and Dunnington’s scholarship can be applied to the college or university of his choice.
Chloe Haggerty, a junior at Mountain Ridge High School, and Colten Gary, a junior at Allegany High School, won $350 scholarships to the college or university of their choice.
All four scholarship recipients were selected by random drawing.
