MORGANTOWN, Ky. (March 6, 2025) – Morgantown Bank & Trust is proud to continue its commitment to supporting local students by offering its annual scholarship program. High school seniors in Butler and Warren counties who plan to pursue a post-secondary education still have time to apply before the deadline on March 28, 2025.
The Morgantown Bank & Trust Scholarship will award four students a $2,500 scholarship, totaling $10,000 in funds for graduating seniors in May 2025. Eligible students may use the scholarship for either a four-year college degree or a two-year associate degree program.

Scholarship recipients will receive their award in two disbursements: $1,250 at the beginning of the first semester and $1,250 at the beginning of the second semester. To remain eligible for the second payment, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and provide proof of registration for the next semester. If a student’s GPA falls below 2.0 after the first semester, they may still receive the second disbursement once their cumulative GPA reaches 2.0 or higher.
Application Requirements:
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must submit the following by Friday, March 28, 2025:
A completed scholarship application form.
A high school transcript (students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible).
A resume that includes:
Personal information
Extracurricular activities (organized by school year)
Community involvement
Work experience
Career objectives
A personal essay explaining their reasons for pursuing a post-secondary education.
Applications must be submitted by the deadline to be considered.
