Ottawa, October 16, 2023 – Desjardins Ontario Credit Union, true to its commitment to youth, announces the launch of the Leadership Scholarships. Two grants of $5,000 each, are intended to recognize and support young student leaders aged 18 to 30 in our communities who are involved in the environment, sustainable development, society or
governance.
From October 16 to November 30, 2023, students enrolled in a post-secondary institution in Ontario are invited to submit their applications. They are encouraged to demonstrate their leadership and community contributions in these areas. A selection committee will evaluate the candidates and determine the two winners of this first edition.
“In addition to our existing scholarships for academic perseverance, we want to recognize and encourage those who are actively committed to the well-being of their community. The environment, society and governance are issues that are close to our hearts at Desjardins, which is why we’re proud to launch this new program aimed at those young people who make it a personal priority.” Billy Boucher, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, Desjardins Ontario Credit Union.
