LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Scholarships have been awarded to six of Lincoln High School’s best and brightest to study education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Project RAÍCES aims to bring more diversity into the education system to improve the quality of education for all students.
“One key goal of this comprehensive project is to more intentionally invest in, nurture and mentor students from a broad range of backgrounds in teacher education here at UNL,” said Amanda Morales, an associate professor.
Lincoln High held a scholarship signing ceremony Thursday afternoon to honor the achievements of the six recipients.
Sixteen scholarships will be awarded to students from school districts across Nebraska who are part of the university’s teacher preparation programs.
