ST. LOUIS (WSIL) — Schnuck Markets, Inc. announced a collective donation of $150,000 to the Folds of Honor Foundation. The funds were raised during the “Round Up at the Register” campaign, which took place from May 14 to 27 at all Schnucks locations.
The campaign allowed customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, with all proceeds going to Folds of Honor to provide 30 educational scholarships.
“Our customers’ willingness to round up a few cents at a time makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the families of our military veterans and first responders, and I thank them for their continued generosity,” said Schnucks Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck.
He also expressed gratitude towards Schnucks teammates for supporting the campaign’s success.
Folds of Honor, established in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, has awarded nearly 62,000 scholarships to military and first responder families.
“We’re so proud of the longstanding partnership with Schnucks, the Schnuck family and their teammates,” said Doug Mitchell, President of the Board for Folds of Honor Missouri & Southern Illinois.
Mitchell highlighted that the partnership has resulted in 1,140 scholarships, equaling $5.7 million in educational impact in Missouri and Southern Illinois.
Since 2018, Schnucks’ “Round Up at the Register” has raised $5.7 million, supporting over 1,100 scholarships.
Schnucks will present a check to Folds of Honor at Busch Stadium before the St. Louis Cardinals game on July 11.
