The memory of Tomaras Lamon Deveridge will be honored with the Tomaras Deveridge Scholarship 5K Run fundraiser.
The 5K will be held on Sept. 27 at Goshen First Baptist Church, in Goshen. Pre-registration is $25 at https://runsignup.com/Race/AL/Goshen/TomarasDeveridgeScholarshipFundKRun. Registration will also be accepted the day of the race at 8 a.m. for a fee of $30. The race begins at 9 a.m. Donations can also be made through Cash App at $Devschollarship.
The run will be hosted by Goshen First Baptist Church, the community and Tomaras’ parents, Tommy and Joyce Deveridge. The Deveridge Scholarship Fund was founded in 2002. In January 2026, scholarship applications will be placed in the local schools. The family wishes best of luck to all applicants in Pike, Crenshaw and the surrounding counties.
All proceeds from this 5K event will benefit the Goshen First Baptist Church Tomaras Lamon Deveridge Scholarship Fund. Anyone who is unable to walk can still help fund the scholarship through donations.
The annual fundraiser is held to keep Deveridge’s memory alive through scholarships to deserving high school students who are pursuing higher education.
