
DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – Art in Public Places (APP) has announced a new scholarship initiative to support young leaders and emerging artists in the Wiregrass.
At its September meeting, the Board of Directors approved $2,500 in scholarships to be awarded to two graduating seniors in 2026.
One scholarship, valued at $1,000, will go to a senior currently serving on the APP Junior Board, recognizing their service and impact. The second scholarship, worth $1,500, will be open to any Wiregrass area high school senior planning to study art, museum studies, music, theatre or dance.
Applications will open in January 2026, with eligibility details available on the APP website.
