COELLO, Ill. — Dozens of seniors were awarded with scholarships towards colleges last week. These were presented by the Coello Italian Club in Franklin County.
40 area high school seniors from seven different schools were awarded the scholarships from the club, ranging from $500 up to $1,000.
The Coello Italian Club awarded the $1,000 scholarship for a student at Zeigler-Royalton High School.
Dozens of students from schools, including from Christopher, Sesser-Valier, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Elverado, Waltonville and Carterville, were awarded scholarships of $500.
Recipients of the scholarships will be notified at their respected school honor banquets.
