Temple Independent School District Superintendent Bobby Ott invited parents and community members to join him for a presentation at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Thornton Elementary regarding the November bond election.
The presentation is part of an ongoing series at Temple ISD schools about the “safety and seats” bond. The same information is presented at each meeting, and Ott will answer questions after presenting bond election details.
Pizza and drinks will be served, and child care will be provided for school-aged students.
BELTON — The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is hosting Sader Days, day-long events for prospective students to visit campus.
All high school seniors and transfer students planning to enroll at UMHB in fall 2026 who attend a Sader Day or campus visit from now until May 1, qualify for a $1,000 scholarship. Prospective students may also be eligible for up to $500 in travel reimbursement after their UMHB classes begin if they traveled more than 120 miles to campus.

The city of Troy has rescinded a boil water notice it issued Friday for customers of its public water system.
Officials stated the city has received laboratory test results verifying the safety of the drinking water in the city. Effective immediately, water may be consumed without the need for precautionary boiling, the city stated in a news release.
