LAWRENCE — Central Catholic High School senior Navin Ramesh, of North Chelmsford, has been named a 2024 Coca-Cola Scholar.
Ramesh is one of just 150 Scholars selected from a pool of 103,800 applicants nationwide after a highly competitive process.
These 150 high school seniors will each receive a $20,000 college scholarship and join a family of 6,900-plus alumni who are leading positive change in their communities and around the world.
Less than one-sixth of 1% of applicants were chosen to receive this extremely competitive award. According to the Coca-Cola Scholarship Program, the scholarship recipients not only exemplify superior leadership, service, and academics, they are change agents, positively affecting others in their communities.
“It is a great honor and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to become part of this community of change-makers refreshing the world!” said Ramesh. “The Coca-Cola Scholars Program furthers a legacy of service and collaboration to be leaders of the future. What I want more than anything in my future is to have a positive impact in my local community and on a larger scale, harnessing passions for equity in healthcare and education, influenced by Central’s mission of serving the least favored. I’m grateful for the support of my teachers, mentors, family, and friends, who energize me and whose encouragement and guidance have been invaluable to me.”
Coca-Cola Scholars will attend Coca-Cola Scholars Weekend in Atlanta April 25-28, where they will be the guests of honor at the 36th annual Coca-Cola Scholars Banquet and participate in the Coca-Cola Scholars Leadership Development Institute facilitated by program alumni. Collectively, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation will award $3.1 million in college scholarships to these outstanding young leaders.
“The entire Central Catholic community is incredibly proud of Navin for becoming a recipient of this incredible scholarship opportunity,” said CCHS Principal Doreen Keller. “Navin has continued to proudly represent CCHS and we look forward to witnessing the various other accolades we’re sure he will receive in the future. We’re very fortunate to have Navin as a student here at Central Catholic.”
