HERMITAGE, Pa. – At its recent annual meeting, the Mercer County Community Federal Credit Union celebrated 67 years of service to its members and awarded scholarships to local graduating seniors.
CEO Sandi Carangi said that over the past year, the credit union focused on two main goals: the construction of its new Hermitage office and volunteering in the community. Members of the staff, board and supervisory committee taught financial lessons at local schools and donated to nonprofit organizations in the community, carrying out the credit union’s philosophy of “People Helping People.”
The following students were awarded $1,000 scholarships:
A seventh $1,000 scholarship was given in memory of Cliff Toth, a past member of the credit union’s board of directors. The scholarship was given to Nolan Lapikas, a senior at Sharpsville High School who excels in music and the performing arts.
Honorable mention awards in the amount of $100 each were also given to the following students:
