(Southeastern IN) – Daniela Blanco of Sunman has been selected as the 2024 Hispanic Community Advisory Committee (HCAC) Scholarship winner.
Blanco, a 2024 Batesville graduate in waiting, will continue her studies at Xavier University and study nursing.
In the application, Batesville teacher Katy Tincher wrote, “What sets Daniela apart is her exceptional ability to balance academic excellence with active participation in extracurricular activities and working two jobs.”
The HCAC Selection Committee credited Blanco for her accomplishments while a student at Batesville High School such as National Honor Society Spanish Club, and numerous volunteer and community service efforts.
Students from Oldenburg Academy along with Batesville, Milan, and East Central high schools applied for the scholarship.
