LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – May 1 is National College Decision Day. It’s when high school seniors across the nation announce and celebrate what college they’ll be attending.
You may remember Madison Crowell, the Liberty County senior who broke records for college acceptances and scholarships. Well Wednesday, she announced her decision.
College Decision Day for students across the nation is a day of gratitude, emotion and congratulations.
And in Liberty County, the anticipated decision day for Madison Crowell, the Liberty County High School senior who’s in the nation’s top spot for college acceptances and scholarship dollars.
“$14,790,695,″ said Genese Baker-Lane, Director of Public Relations, Liberty County Schools.
Wednesday students at Liberty County High School, city leaders and government officials joined Madison and her family to celebrate her journey and record-breaking accomplishment.
“Thanks to all of you, I never felt alone,” said Crowell.
And finally find out what school, of those 200 plus acceptances, she’ll be heading off to in just a few months.
“I got a full academic ride to attend, so I’m really excited about going to High Point,” said Crowell.
As a presidential scholar. Governor Brian Kemp, Senator Jon Ossoff and many others sent their well wishes to Madison. Including the President of the United States.
You’re a part of the reason I am so optimistic about the future. Keep the faith, President Joe Biden,” said Baker-Lane.
And her parents say, this is only the beginning of her journey.
“She has the whole rest of her life to accomplish her wildest dreams,” said Delando Langley, Madison’s father.
