Seven Cabot High School seniors were awarded scholarships at the Kiwanis Scholarship Luncheon. 
Congratulations to Ebony Jade Robertson, Sophie Ward, Jaxon Meyer, Grant Walker, Hattie Huffmaster, Kathryn Bokker, and Maddox Smith!

Betty Flowers Scholarship $1,000 – Ebony Jade Robertson

Betty Flowers was a distinguished member of the Kiwanis Club of Cabot for over 30 years. She served as our Club President, District Lt. Governor and then held the highest office as our MO-ARK Governor in 2013-2014 where Flower Power became her motto. Betty had a passion for Kiwanis and the children of our community which was evident through her service with the Cabot Key Club.  Also, her license plate read KIWANIS! She was heavily involved as Key Club leadership sponsor then Key Club District Leader for MOARK. She was a mentor and confidant to many in this club as well as the Key Club. We honor her in memory with this scholarship for her many years of leadership and service and for serving the children in our community.
Mike Flowers Scholarship $1,000 – Sophie Ward

Mike was a faithful member of the Cabot Kiwanis Club by serving as Club President and on the Board of Directors. He later continued his service as Lt. Governor of our District and MOARK’s Governor.  This scholarship has been awarded to the deserving student who embodies Mike’s commitment to serving others and making a positive impact in their community.
Mark and Liz Bartel Scholarship $1,000 – Jaxson Meyer

The Mark and Liz Bartels scholarship is a prestigious award given to deserving students in the Cabot community who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership qualities, and a commitment to serving others. This scholarship is named in honor of Mark Bartels, a former President of the Cabot Kiwanis Club and current board member, and his wife Liz, who have been avid supporters of our community for many years.
Mark and Liz Bartels have been instrumental in helping to shape the future of our community through their dedication to education and their passion for giving back. Their generosity and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others have inspired countless individuals to strive for excellence and to make a positive impact in their community.
The Mark and Liz Bartels Scholarship serves as a testament to the couple’s belief in the potential of our youth and their desire to support students in their pursuit of higher education. It is a fitting tribute to their legacy of service and generosity, and a reminder of the importance of giving back to those that need us the most, the children.
Gail Carpenter Scholarship $1,000 – Grant Walker

The Gail Carpenter Memorial Scholarship is awarded in honor of the first woman to serve in the Cabot Kiwanis Club as a member and a former president. As a small business owner, Gail was a trailblazer in our community, breaking barriers and making a lasting impact on the Cabot Kiwanis Club and its members. This scholarship serves as a tribute to her legacy and is awarded to deserving individuals who embody her spirit of leadership, dedication, and service.
Lane Whitaker Memorial Scholarship $1,000 – Hattie Huffmaster

Lane was actively involved in Cabot High School Key Club as president. He served in many community service projects throughout his high school years. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Cabot High School who exemplifies Lane’s dedication to service and leadership. The Cabot Kiwanis Club is proud to honor Lane’s memory by supporting the education of a deserving student who shares his passion for serving others. We believe that by investing in the next generation of leaders, we can continue Lane’s legacy of making a positive impact in our community.
Jim and Maxine Thompson Scholarship $1,000 – Kathryn Bokker

Col. Jim Thompson and wife Maxine are long-time beloved members of the Kiwanis Club of Cabot, where they have served for over 40 years in Kiwanis. Col. Thompson served as Club President, District’s Lt. Governor and then took on the Secretary/Treasurer position for more than 20 years. He worked gracefully for the club and the children of our community by serving as Leadership sponsor for K-Kids and endless community service events. We honor Col. Jim and Maxine with this scholarship for their continued support and service to our club and more importantly the children of our community.
Billie Howard Scholarship $1,000 – Maddox Smith

Billie Howard has been a dedicated member of the Kiwanis Club of Cabot for over 40 years, serving in various leadership roles within the organization. As a testament to her commitment to service and education, the Kiwanis Club of Cabot has established a scholarship in her honor.
In addition to her long-standing membership in the club, Billie also served as Lieutenant Governor and on the District’s Board of Trustees, further demonstrating her passion for supporting and growing the Kiwanis mission. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Cabot club, continuing to make a positive impact on the community.
The Billie Howard scholarship serves as a fitting tribute to a dedicated Kiwanis member who has made a lasting impact on the organization and the community. Her legacy of service and dedication will continue to inspire future generations of Kiwanis members to make a difference in the world.
