The department of school education and literacy under the Ministry of human resource development has launched the NMMS Scholarship 2024. The full form of the NMMS scholarship is the national means cum merit scholarship scheme. Under this scholarship scheme, financial incentives will award to meritorious students who belong to the economically weaker section of society so that the dropout rate in class 8 can be prevented which happens due to the financial condition of the students. With the help of this scholarship scheme, students will encourage to pursue their education at the secondary stage. Under this scholarship scheme, Rs 12000 financial assistance will provide from class 9th to class 12th.
PM YASASVI Scheme
The main objective of the NMMS Scholarship is to improve the dropout rate among students after class 8th. Through this scholarship financial assistance of Rs 12000 per annum is provided to students so that they can fulfill their educational needs and be able to continue their education. All those students who belong to the economically weaker section of society will get the benefit of the NMMS Scholarship Scheme 2024. With the help of this scholarship scheme, the students will motivate to take admitted in the secondary stage.
LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship
The scholarship amount under NMMS Scholarship is Rs 12000 per annum which is 1000 per month. Around 1 lakh scholarships are disbursed every year through the State Bank of India into the bank account of the beneficiaries through the public financial management system. Each year in every state and union territory the number of allocation of scholarships differs according to the enrollment of students in class 7th and 8th and their population in the respective state. Some of the important details of NMMS scholarship are as follows:-
Each state and union territory conducts a selection test which includes a mental ability test and scholastic aptitude test. The guidelines for these tests are set by NCERT. The candidates are required to pass these tests in order to be eligible for the scholarship. On the basis of this test, scholarships are awarded to the students. The student is required to complete this test at a maximum time duration of 90 minutes. Those students who have special abilities will be provided with extra time to complete the test. After the student has appeared in the MAT and SAT examinations the student is required to secure at least 40% marks in each test.
