Nebraska Public Power District has donated more than $2 million for college scholarships since 1992 from an annual golf tournament, including more than $400,000 for Northeast Community College. On Thursday Brittney Koenig, NPPD retail manager in Norfolk, shared the good news and presented a check for $15,000 at the Northeast Community College Board of Governors’ meeting.
Koenig noted that NPPD’s Nebraska Open golf tournament and fundraiser has raised more than $2 million since the first tournament in 1992. Of that total, $416,000 has gone to Northeast for scholarships.
