Bryan-College Station high school seniors were honored with a scholarship on Wednesday for their musical passion and plans to continue with music through college.
Friends of Chamber Music, a nonprofit organization that organizes concerts and musicians, has been awarding scholarships for four years to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their involvement with music in the future. The applicants included a wide variety of musical passions, including cello, flute, composition, euphonium, voice, mariachi band and more.

The scholarship recipients include cellist Hannah Jeong, composer Abraham Guillen and euphonium player Parker Moratzka.
Jeong will begin her studies in cello performance at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles in the fall; Moratzka will be enrolled in the marketing program at Texas A&M University starting this fall. He plans to audition with the A&M Wind Bands and begin working as a marching tech with A&M Consolidated High School Tiger Band in the summer; Guillen has been accepted into the Music Composition Program at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
The $1,000 scholarship awarded to each student will contribute to the student’s music study fees during their freshman year of college.
You could spend your time trying to explain how to do these 10 things over the phone — or you could do it now, before your kids head out on their own.
