PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) -One high school student with a passion for giving voice to her community recently won our 2024 Glenn Wilson Broadcast Journalism Scholarship.
Allyson Powers is a senior at Parkersburg High School who is active both in her school’s media program and the community. She is an editor of her school’s yearbook, as well as a co-op student at Blennerhasset Elementary and a member of both Senior Women’s Club and Senior Cabinet at PHS.
She joined anchor Andrew Noll in the studio to talk about her love of journalism and what receiving this scholarship means to her.
