AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP AWARD OF THE IOWA BAR ASSOCIATION
The lawyer-sponsored American Citizenship Award is presented annually to the student who, in the opinion of the faculty, has best demonstrated a knowledge and understanding of the principles of American Citizenship and possesses outstanding qualities of American citizenship. The recipient need not be the school’s outstanding scholar, athlete, musician, or artist, but in the opinion of the attorneys of Iowa, it should be a serious student who has been an active worker and leader in approved student activities, reliable and upstanding, thus broadening the base of knowledge and experience through informal education in a sensible balance with formal studies.

FELIX TIGGES AWARD
Felix Tigges was a student at Kuemper who was known for helping at athletic events. Felix died at an early age of cancer. In his honor and in memory of his service, his classmates established the Felix Tigges Award for exemplifying the highest forms of courage and dedication in overcoming adversities to achieve a high school education. Selection of the recipient is made by students, faculty and administration.

LAWRENCE BOCK STUDENT-ATHLETE CITIZENSHIP AWARD
This award is presented in recognition of excellence in athletics, scholastic achievement and leadership. This is the highest athletic award presented by Kuemper High School. Selection is made by the coaching staff, faculty and administration. The recipient also receives a $500 scholarship from the Lawrence Bock family.
