In celebration of Pride Month, we are highlighting the John M. Kerr Memorial Bursary Award. This award supports 2SLGBTQIA+ students pursuing higher education in Alberta, Canada by providing financial assistance.
Applications for the 2024 John M. Kerr Memorial Bursary are now open and will close on 30 June 2024.
Successful applicants are notified in August, and awards are presented during the annual Coronation Ball, a yearly, themed, black-tie event thrown by the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose (ISCWR), a non-profit orgnisation supporting the LGBTQ community in Alberta.
Each year, the ISCWR grants bursary awards to students from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community enrolled in any accredited post-secondary education programme in Alberta, Canada.
Award amounts typically range from CAD$500 to $750, depending on the number of recipients and funds raised each year. Funds are sent directly to the educational institution the recipient will attend.
