Niko Sicotte, of Oronoco, was recently recognized as the local level winner of the Voice of Democracy contest for VFW Post 9647 in Oronoco. Sicotte earned a $40 scholarship prize. Sicotte is a senior at Century High School.
Zoe Njus, of Pine Island, recently participated in the University of Dubuque’s Second Century Scholars Day. She earned the Distinguished Scholar Award of $1,500 for the 2025-2026 academic year. Njus is a senior at Pine Island High School.
