The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation are once again investing in the future of agriculture through their annual scholarship program, and the application deadline is quickly approaching—Sunday, November 2.
We spoke with Josie Jones from the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, who shared more details about this impactful initiative:
“The Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation has an annual scholarship program where we award funding to youth across Alabama to further their education. Applications are open for that now. We give out over a hundred thousand dollars in scholarships annually and that’s something that we’re really excited about. So we want to make sure we get the word out to all those kids to get in and apply.”
This scholarship program is open to a wide range of students, not just graduating high school seniors. According to Jones,
“We award scholarships for everyone from headed out of high school into college all the way through undergrad, graduate programs, and even some specific programs with law practice and going in to get their doctorate and a couple of other things in specialty scholarships.”
Whether you’re just beginning your college journey or pursuing an advanced degree, the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation offers opportunities to help you continue your education and contribute to the future of Alabama agriculture.
The main eligibility requirement is membership. Applicants must have a parent, grandparent, or personal membership in the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association for two or more consecutive years leading up to the application. Beyond that, the program offers flexibility in award categories and areas of study.
“So highly recommend anyone interested to go check that out,” Jones added.
Each year, the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation awards over $100,000 in scholarships to deserving students. The program highlights the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting education, leadership, and the next generation of ranchers, farmers, and agricultural professionals across the state.
Students interested in applying should visit the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association website to review scholarship details, eligibility, and application procedures before the November 2 deadline.
