Each year Alco Federal Credit Union invests in the future of the communities it serves by awarding scholarships to local high school seniors to help finance their college education. A $1000 scholarship was awarded this year to Cloey Larabee and Natalie Burrows from Cuba Rushford Central School and Hope Ford from Genesee Valley Central School.

Cloey is going to start her college journey at SUNY Geneseo. Her goal is to receive a degree in Math education and she would like to teach college level Math in one of our local high schools. Cloey has served on Student Council and Class of 2025 Leadership as well as Yearbook Club Treasurer and National Honor Society VP. She’s been involved in Robotics and Youth Court as well as Soccer, Basketball, Track, and Softball.
Natalie plans on attending the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. There she would like to pursue a Health and Physical Education degree to become a physical education teacher. She was a two-time Master Dairy Showman at the Allegany County Fair as well as a recipient of the New York State FFA Empire Degree. Natalie was also a sectional bowling champion. She also served as Secretary for FFA, Spirit Club and her Junior Class.
Hope Ford will be attending the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. She plans on getting a degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Directing. She has served as Class President 3 out of 4 years. She is an active volunteer as a member of the Angelica Hose Co #1, School theater, Student Council, Angelica Baptist Church and Wellspring Ministries. She has worked at the American House and Hotel, Dunkin, and MTS.
Congratulations to Cloey, Natalie and Hope for joining the long list of past winners of the John Patterson Memorial Scholarship. Mr. Patterson served for 32 years as Treasurer of Alco Federal Credit Union and was a vital piece in leading the Credit Union to where it is today.
This scholarship is available to any member of Alco Federal Credit Union that is graduating high school and has been a member for at least one year prior to applying. The application deadline is April 30th of your graduating year.
