Bellefontaine High School senior Ryan Alexander was awarded a prestigious scholarship on Tuesday.
Alexander is this year’s Bruce E. Higham Scholarship recipient at BHS.
Ryan will be attending The Ohio State University in the fall, majoring in welding engineering.
His parents are Nate & Emily Alexander and Galen & Abby Miller.
Bruce E. Higham was a 1938 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and a 1943 graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned a degree in engineering.
Mr. Higham passed away in 2002 in Jamestown, Ohio, where he had lived since the mid-1980s.
The Board of Trustees of the Jamestown Area Foundation, Inc. awards a full four-year college scholarship to one Bellefontaine High School male graduate each year under the Bruce E. Higham Trust.
The scholarship includes all tuition, room, board, books, and a stipend for academic supplies.
The scholarship is for attendance at any State of Ohio public-supported college or university.
