Santo Domingo.- The Alexandra Grullón Fund held its first public event onThursday, announcing scholarships for 14 university students, with three more set to join once their enrollment is complete. Beneficiaries will study at institutions including UAPA, INTEC, ITLA, UNPHU, UNICARIBE, O&M, and UASD. The initiative was created to support survivors and families affected by the tragic events of April 8.
Melba Segura de Grullón, Alexandra’s mother, described the launch as the birth of “ALE hope,” underscoring the emotional and social impact of the program. The fund not only reflects a mother’s love but also embodies the country’s solidarity in helping rebuild the lives of those affected.
During the event, Alexandra’s godfather, Milton Ray Guevara, emphasized that her legacy will live on through the achievements of the scholarship recipients. First Lady Raquel Arbaje also praised the initiative, calling it “a gesture of love that turns pain into hope,” ensuring Alexandra’s spirit continues to inspire.
