The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Alpha Gamma Iota Omega Chapter invites the public to its “All White Jazz Brunch” scholarship fundraiser.
Organizers said the event, which includes a meal, a live band and “endless mimosas,” is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 7, at the Bear Valley Country Club, 13229 Spring Valley Parkway in Victorville.
Attendees may shop the silent auction, purchase 50/50 tickets for a cash prize and socialize with stakeholders, friends and those committed to improving the lives of others, the group stated.
Event proceeds benefit scholarships and the award-winning programs the organization has provided to the High Desert for the past two years.
Those programs include the Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack, where members and community donors have provided thousands of meals to 42 of the area’s most deserving and neediest students during holidays and extended school breaks, the group said.
During the fundraiser, Alpha Gamma will present college scholarships to local high school students and celebrate its first anniversary as a chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, “the nation’s premier Black Greek women’s service organization,’ the group stated.
