Altrusa International of Oak Ridge will be granting scholarships starting at $1,000 to deserving women to assist with their college or trade school fees. There are two types of scholarships being offered.
The first is The Altrusa Scholarship. This scholarship is designed to assist women who are continuing post high school education at a community college, university or technical school. There are multiple scholarships available.
The second offering is the Sarah Ketron Scholarship, which is named in honor of the late Sarah Ketron. Sarah was a former Altrusa president who worked for many years as a school counselor in the Oak Ridge school system. This scholarship is designated for women who are non-traditional students continuing their education after having interrupted their studies for work or family obligations.
All scholarships are based on financial need.
Applications are available online at: altrusaorscholarship@gmail.com. Completed applications should be submitted online to the same address. All applications and supporting documents must be received by email by 6PM on March1,2025.
