For more than two decades, the Alumni Scholarship Golf Classic has provided critical funds to more than 400 deserving Stony Brook students. Continuing the tradition, 100 golfers came together on June 30 at the Nissequogue Golf Club in St. James, New York, to celebrate the 23rd anniversary outing.
Scholarships empower students to thrive in their academic pursuits and provide important resources as they prepare for their future. The funds are not only an investment in their education but also make a positive and lasting impact on the Stony Brook community.
For Samuel E. Katsaros ’24, this support has made all the difference.
“Scholarships opened a world for me beyond the classroom walls,” said Katsaros, a business management scholarship recipient. “The support empowered me to turn my academic insights into real-world ventures, shaping my future in the most dynamic way.”
In addition to raising essential scholarship dollars for Stony Brook students, this year’s golf outing brought alumni and friends together to network and reminisce about their shared experiences on campus.
“I’m elated to see that year after year, the generosity of our alumni base continues to make this a great event supporting the university and our current students,” said Frank C. Barile ’02, scholarship golf committee chair and vice president for engagement strategy of the Alumni Association Board executive committee.
