GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America awarded $46,000 in College Scholarships through its National Teen Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship Contest.
The scholarship went to students entering college who have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia-related illnesses. This includes students with family members or friends suffering, or students hoping to pursue a degree in a field relating to Alzheimer’s. “There are a lot of ways students can be affected by Alzheimer’s disease. That’s the whole goal of this competition. We want students to share their stories and to spread awareness,” said Chris Schneider, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
Students can submit an essay or a video to apply for the scholarship.
