America250PA has announced a scholarship program to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States in 2026. This initiative targets Pennsylvania high school seniors entering in-state colleges and universities for the 2026-2027 academic year.
According to a news release from America250PA, the Semiquincentennial Scholarship Program will award 25 scholarships of $10,000 each across six regions in Pennsylvania. Up to 12 scholarships will be awarded for community college students and up to 13 for students attending accredited post-secondary institutions.
Any high school senior who plans to attend an accredited Pennsylvania college or university during the 2026-2027 academic year can apply. Scholarship winners will be announced in April 2026.
Participating institutions include a diverse range of colleges and universities across Pennsylvania, including Arcadia University, Bucknell University, La Salle University, Penn State, Temple University, the University of Pittsburgh, and West Chester University.
“Pennsylvania has always been a place where education blazes the trail of progress. This program honors that legacy by investing in our students — the next generation of leaders, teachers, builders, and dreamers who will shape the next 250 years,” said Cassandra Coleman, executive director of America250PA, to The (Lock Haven) Express. “Every scholarship is both recognition of their potential and an invitation to carry the story of our Commonwealth into the future.”
High school seniors who are interested in applying for the scholarship program can complete the online application. For further information about the program or match requirements, email info@America250PA.org.
