Americus Kiwanis Club donates $10,000 in scholarships – Americus Times-Recorder

Sadie Hancock, an elementary education major from Manchester Georgia, shared what it was like receiving the scholarship. “I actually was a little shocked.” Hancock has a personal connection to Kiwanis. “I did feel very honored, because I have a Kiwanis club in the town I’m from, and my grandfather’s a part of it.”
Hancock was inspired to become a teacher by role models like her mother and grandparents. “I’ve had a lot of great like influences in my life, and I want to have that positive impact on others.”
She had a final message for readers. “I’m just very grateful that I was picked to be a recipient of the scholarship, and I thank all the members of the Kiwanis Club.”
Boone Prince, an exercise science student from Cairo Georgia, was another scholarship recipient. Prince is a member of the Jimmy Carter Leadership Program, and the president of Sigma Chi.
He is also a senior, who is sending applications to graduate school. He shared what it was like receiving the scholarship. “Just an amazing feeling, and just makes you have to worry about one thing less.” He expressed his thanks. “Glad to be here, glad to be a part of this, and look forward to seeing ya’ll some more throughout the semester.”
The Americus Kiwanis Club also gave scholarships to Ethan Beck, a pre-engineering student from Americus Georgia, Brody Bellomo, a management student from Tampa Florida, Perry Bennett, a Health and PE student from Cobb Georgia, Cierra Brown, a pre-nursing student from Butler Georgia, Elise Cherry, a pre-nursing student from Sylvester Georgia, Kenlee Dalton, a pre-nursing student from Moultrie Georgia, Jordin Gundin, a marketing student from Valrico Florida, and Megan Pitts, a pre-nursing student from Griffin Georgia, which totaled $10,000.
